The story of Alberto and Caterina
Alberto and Caterina meet while travelling in Tuscany. He grew up in Bologna with a passion for wine; she divides her time between Milan and London and has always believed that travel is the best reminder that life can move at different rhythms. One summer evening they arrive in a small village near Montalcino. The sun is disappearing behind the hills and warm light falls across stone walls, rooftops and windows.
They sit at a long table with friends, an unopened bottle at the centre. Someone says, “Let’s open it now, before the last light disappears.” The words stay with them. Not simply because of the sunset, but because they realise that certain evenings become memorable precisely when no one is in a hurry for them to end.

Luci di Borgo is not the name of an invented winery or estate. It represents a precise moment: when the village catches the final light of the day, windows begin to glow and time seems to slow down. It is the Tuscany of villages, hills, shared tables and memories that remain.
Alberto and Caterina begin searching for a Brunello capable of bringing them back to that feeling. They visit wineries, taste, compare and listen. They are not looking for a vineyard to dress with a label, but for a spot with soul, elegance and depth, able to accompany time and people without demanding the spotlight. When they find the right vineyard, the connection is complete: an evening created a memory, the memory created a search, and the search led to the perfect location. The project takes its name from the image that remained strongest: the lights of the village. Alberto and Caterina move to Montalcino in order to follow from closer their small jewel and produce their first 10,000 bottles of Luci di Borgo.
